We kindly ask that guests attending our welcome party plan accordingly, drink responsibly, and arrange their own transportation or carpooling. Important Note: If you are planning to travel to/from the wedding via one of our wedding shuttles, please plan to stay in Boone. If you'd prefer to stay in West Jefferson, please keep in mind that rideshare apps/taxis are not available there, so you will have to coordinate your own travel.

Staying in Boone (recommended for convenience!)

There are three great hotel options that we recommend in Boone, all within walking distance from one another and about a 35-minute shuttle ride to our venue. If you're able, we highly encourage booking at one of these hotels for your convenience, as our shuttles will be picking up from/dropping off at two of them (and the third is walking distance from them).

If you choose to stay here and take the shuttle, it's a short walk to the other two hotels where shuttles will be transporting guests to/from the wedding.

Staying in West Jefferson

Shuttle To & From the Wedding Venue

We have arranged for two shuttles to transport guests between the hotels in Boone and the wedding venue on Saturday. The hotels are right across the street from eachother. Both shuttles will&nbsp;depart from&nbsp;the hotels at 3:00 pm and return&nbsp;at the end of the wedding at&nbsp;10:30 pm. Shuttle seats are limited and&nbsp;will be first come, first served. Driving Instuctions

Directions to Our Wedding One of the reasons we love our wedding venue is that it's in a quiet and peaceful mountain river valley. While this will allow for beautiful scenery on our wedding day, it does mean that the property is off the beaten path. While only 2 hours from Charlotte and 3 hours from Raleigh, the last part of the drive is up quiet mountain roads. As you get closer to The Barn, some cell service providers have no signal. Relying on your cell phone for GPS directions may not be feasible (car GPS services should continue to work). We highly recommend that you bring Google directions and print out/screenshot these directions as an alternative, in case service is lost. Once you Arrive When you first arrive at the private gravel driveway, please follow it left along the river. The driveway winds 1 mile surrounded by fields and the riverbank. The speed limit on the driveway is 15 MPH. As you get closer to the Barn follow the signs to the parking lot. Attendants will direct you to a parking spot and, if needed, shuttle you the short distance to the Barn. Driving Directions from Blowing Rock &amp; Boone Once you get on US-421 S/US-221 N, stay on the road for about 9.5 miles. Use the on-ramp on the right to continue on US-221 N. Once on US-221 N, most GPS will direct you to turn right onto Idlewild Rd, which is an option; however, to avoid 2 miles of narrow, gravel roads and stay on state-maintained paved roads, follow these directions. This will add 3 miles; however, an easier drive. After turning left onto US-221 N, continue for 6.3 miles. Turn right onto Water Tank Rd., continue 3.3 miles. Turn right onto Lower Nettle Knob Rd., continue 2 miles. Turn right at The Barn on New River sign and veer left onto the Private Drive. Driving Directions from the Holiday Inn &amp; West Jefferson Take a left out of the Holiday Inn, go .02 miles. Go straight at the light onto 163 for 3.6 miles. Turn right onto Nettle Knob Road, go 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Lower Nettle Knob Road, go 3.2 miles. Turn right onto SouthFork Farm Lane. Driving Directions from Charlotte &amp; Chapel Hill Take US-421 N into Wilkesboro, continue straight up the Mountain (do not use 16 N) until you see US-221 N towards West Jefferson. Once on US-221 N, most GPS will direct you to turn right onto Idlewild.
